Wow... that brings back memories. I remember opening the BRAND NEW mosaic browser after it was first released on a sparc workstation in a university computer lab in 93. There were not many sites around at the time, but we did manage to find some porn very quickly.
I was using IRC, gopher & nntp for a long time before that. (mostly for porn - teenage years and all).

But, I did meet the woman who I ended up marrying, so it wasn't all bad.

The first one I visit is Yahoo back in 1997. I also use Altavista.

Another one that I can't forget is Webcrawler. Back then the logo is a cartoon spider but it totally change today.

For me at that time, Internet is all about searching. :D

I was 11 years old I think and actually, the first thing I ever did online wasn't visit a website but sign in to MiRC. First website was no doubt Yahoo. I was creating an email account I think and I remember being frustrated to the pits of hell because every name I think of is already taken. lol~

Sometime around 89-90 I figured out how to read newsgroups and email from the terminals at my college.
Not too many people know how to use them and there were no graphics.
I was amazed the first time I sent an email and it was free and instant across the whole country!

Later I got a hacked compuserve or AOL account that let me download porn, it took ages to get 1 photo and I remember thinking that one day in the future we would be able to download full movies and tv real time, still waiting for the flying cars tho :)

If you are talking about pre Netscape, I can't remember, but Netscape should be the first I visited that was after I installed Netscape 1.0b. Long long time ago.

    I smell nostalgia!

January 1996, Yahoo.com. Then I searched for Nintendo sites and found a few. Visited and joined the GGCCC, started collecting Nintendo tips and codes for my first Nintendo site, and for other search engines, there was Webcrawler, Altavista, Excite, Webcrawler, and Infoseek. I remember when Infoseek was first created. You could submit pages and they were listed right then!!!!! Imagen submiting your new site to Google and with in a few minutes, the site is number 1 for some keywords!! :D Those were the days. I remember making a ton of SPAMMY keyword doorpages and had them indexed in Altavista with in a day or two! :D Heck, once I E-Mailed Infoseek about geting some points in their search for the Keyword 'Nintendo' and they did just that. They put my site in the top 5 for Nintendo! Imagen E-Mailing Google asking to be at the top for a major keyword...like viagra...and they do it!! :D

I remember when if you wanted to download a 150K text file...you left the computer!! And you guys think DP is slow! You've seen nothing even close to slow! :D

Newsflash for internet n00bies: IE hasn't always been da top browser!!!!
