Someone submitted a URL like this today, i'm thinking about rejecting it. I checked out the URL and the URL redirected to the main page of the site.

I guess it is an affiliate link, which is kinda clever submitting it to directories.

    Would you reject it?

    Thanks

Reject it... I did. That site also has some pop-ups. Don't list it.

I would reject it as well, I do not see anything that this site really has to offer.

This wasn't the page, this was supposed to be a fake URL just to represent the real one I got because I didn't want to post the real one.

It was just by accident that I choose a real URL and page, I've edited the original post.

lol.. I wouldn't think twice about a submission like that. One look at the URL and it gets binned without any further waste of my time.

whew!! this is new to me.. people actually submitting affiliate links to directories ??!?!? lol . Wouldnt it be better if they submit a link for their site and promote multiple affiliate links on their own site?

    I'd simply reject the link!

    I always reject those.
Even directories that allow deeplinks should reject those as that is utter spam!

Well some people do that. They think they can make Big without even a website.
Some followers of maybe "How to earn 1000s with out a website"

Always use example.com for examples, you'd be surprised what gets registered.

I'd reject the listing too, not just because I don't accept deep links but mainly because it's a redirect. People submit redirects as a sneaky way of getting more link juice to their main page, and hoping you won't notice. On top of that, you shouldn't be listing affiliate links. If it's on your website, any affiliate commission should go to you.

So that's three reasons to reject it, without even looking at the site or the rest of the submission.

Yes, thats definately grounds for an easy deletion.

I have a question; What are your guidelines for your directory?
If you have guidelines at all, i'm pretty certain they have a no 'affiliation links' clause in there.

Are people not knowing their own guidelines for their directories these days?

I know my own guidelines, just didn't consider this possibility. I did reject it anyway.
