Do you recommend a link unit?

Hello! I planning to change my link unit to a leader board because I'm getting very low ctr. My problem is most of the clicks are comning from my link unit(I'm getting an average of 150 clicks/day) and I'm afraid that may click/day will decrease if I change it, on the other hand I have this on my mind that maybe I will get high ctr if I use a leaderboard and it might increase my income.

I want to ask you guys especially thos who have lot of experince in adsense if:

1.) is it worth it if I change my link unit to a leader board?
2.) does link unit really gives low ctr? compared to a leaderboard?

    Thanks! :)

I have noticed lately with my link unit I to was getting a low ctr and like a penny a click, Then started to add adbrite for the other adds because of they pay higher in cpm's, now since the pages thats with adbrite when the link unit is clicked it's higher and pay for clicks is a lot higher. I had on the site before addbite was a leader board and a 120x600 vertical banner plus the link unit, on my joke site which gets about 25.000 visits a day.

I've never done the specific test of replacing one with the other, but in general my link units have poor clickthru, leaderboards better.
Why not try it for a while and see? You can always go back.

You can check your link unit earnings in the more detailed reports and compare them to ad unit earnings. I use the link units when a regular ad unit would be too obtrusive. I do get a fair amount from them so I consider them a worthy option.

I suggest that you try to replace it and see how much difference it makes.

Don't those link units require two clickthroughs? One for a list of relevant ads... and one to then earn a click?

Definitely opt for the leaderboard. Keep monitoring/testing it out.:)

link units always tend to get more CTR especially when placed near the navigation.People think them to be part of nav and click on them.Regarding the leaderboard you might get more CPC than link unit although less ctr.iam not sure.try it pal .

Link units are somtimes useful like at the top of header of at thoes places where it looks like the contetnt part of your website but what i had noticed is link units earn less then ad units.
