Do You Reckon I Can Achieve It?

    I was checking my rankings today as lately I have seen a great increase in strength in my rankings in Google and MSN / Live.

    A few days back my 3 month old blog (1st sig link) that's had about 2 months of link building on it was ranking about 150th in MSN / Live for the popular term Make Money Online.

    I checked back today and I am currently ranking 53rd for Make Money Online in MSN / Live, which is pleasing.

    I'm pretty average when it comes to SEO but am not a bad link builder, and I think it's these lots of links that MSN likes.

    So, my question is, if I keep building links to the blog for another 1-2 months, do you think I will be able to take top 10 rankings in MSN / Live for make Money Online? I definitely think it's possible and will have a good shot at it if I go about it the right way, but am I being a bit unrealistic here?

    The one thing I know I am doing wrong (but I can't change it) is having no keywords in my domain (otooo.com). About 85% of the top 50 results have the keywords in their domain

    Anything is possible, it just takes really hard work. You have to figure out why MSN likes the links you currently have, and then copy your style you used to achieve 53. It might takes months or years but keep building links and doing SEO work and you can be in the top 10.

    Google don't rank site's just based on backlinks....No one knows Google algorithm.So, don't waste time just concentrating on backlinks.Content is important.If you have quality content and if it is indexed and cached well, your site will quickly move up irrespective of backlinks.

    Be it any search engine, links alone cannot get you to the top. It much easier to move from 100 to 50 but thereafter the movement will be gradual. The competition increases exponentially as you move up and you are targeting a very competitive keyword. Having your keyword in domain name is useful but not sufficient.

    Fresh keyword rich content is one thing you would need for sure as all search engines like it. Some on page like title, meta etc. might be worth changing. Do experiments and see what works best for you. It is not necessary that what works for others would work for you as well. Best of luck.
