I know phpbay and BANS are great software. But the main question is do you really make money with it ? I have couple of sites with phpbay and they are showing auctions from ebay but so far not a single sale.

Now tons of people are using these software but are they really having any sales or it is just good to create sites.

let me know your opinions and experience.

I've used BANS and its quite good in what it does, that is present ebay auctions in a format to your user - it won't find you people to sell the products to, thats your job ;)

You might want to target a specific niche rather then listing all the auctions, people could simply goto ebay for that, presenting the auction items within content the user is looking for would convert alot better.

Yes, its all about the niche you choose. I have BANS on an existing site and made some money 2 days later already.

    Here is what I propose:

    1. Target a specific niche, that way you don't have that broad of a site and you can target keywords better
    2. Find a niche that is in big need of and many would like to see. There is a eBay research tool that is online but I cannot find it
    3. The niche should also have variable prices, I wouldn't suggest choosing items that are hundreds of thousands of dollars because that'll decrease the possibility of getting any leads/sales
    4. Make sure your niche has the benefit of a good amount of BIN's, the value of this is that just like a "Winning Bid" if somebody uses the BIN, you get paid as if they WON THE BID
    5. The Big Rule: Make your BANS unique. Many people put it up, modify the theme a bit and do advertising and marketing big time. There is a young guy by the name of Ian Fernando (http://www.inafernando.com) that explains the benefits of turning your BANS into a entire affiliate marketers dream. You can check his site out at http://www.badcircuit.com ... its got affiliate banners, Chitika, PPC ads and the BANS script all put together on a page and its strategically laid out

Good luck in your money making ventures :)
