If anyone could share the least bit of traffic knowledge, that could be a big help to all of us..small and large site owners Does it involve blogs? Cuz it seems that almost every backend traffic trick I've seen has involved something regarding blogs.
My traffic secret is DP Coop and Link Vault that translate in higher SERPs. Also, lots of offline marketing, just to make my website well know in its area. My biggest secret of all is... Experiment! Don't be afraid, try new things with Google ads, give it a try to link units and web search. If it works, keep it, if it doesn't remove it... Also, if it works, keep searching for other ways to optimize it! I've been hit by this last Google mess up and lost about 50% of my traffic... Due to heavy experimentation with Google ads my revenue from Adsense only had drop of 25% to 30%. Also, don't believe in everything you read until you try it and see the results in your website. What works for some ones doesn't work for others... Ohhh, and... I didn't post any secrets did I? LOL!
Yes i do have secrets that let my site to get indexed within 3 days and also it helps getting my site on the first page of MSN search results.
We can learn quite a lot of details on the Internet about that (forums, a minority of good e-books, etc.). For instance, I'm only the average webmaster reading often about this kind of things (there are some well-known gurus in the field, and also experts in private forums, etc.), but... Well: Let's analyze successful websites (with good and targeted traffic, the basis for AdSense, etc.). Why are they successful? Apart from details and tricks, what's the main, the important point? For example, ourselves, why we visit some specific, favorite sites more than others? Maybe because they have something really interesting or useful, and/or because they are one of those few truly service-centered sites (they exist, not only in Japan) and give more than good -even fanatical- service to their users? Then, we know what we have to do... In brief: Within your expertise/vocational area, find out what your users really want or need, and give them just that. But that's real work, and many want only tricks for quick money... For long-term success (that is, the white-hat, honest way) there are also many rather technical details or "secrets" that we should learn from many different sources (and also from our own testing and tracking) but, in my opinion, the -by far- most important part, the basic principles, are just common sense. Very good advice, in fact one of the basic principles. There is for instance that well-known compulsive tester and tracker. He has tested almost everything you can think of, and now he's selling $1000 courses on traffic secrets with the results. But you know: By the way, just one of the thousand practical details: How many of the 200 active AdSense channels (url + custom) are you using for testing and tracking? 200 is a good answer.
I'm using just (for content) 35 channels... Only 3 websites running Adsense seriously, the others are just there, either waiting for traffic or for some adsense optimization... You've made some good points in your post.
This month I will make about $12,000 off of mainly just one site. I have a couple of secrets on both the Adsense side and the traffic side, but I'd rather not share. The key to the 'secrets' that everyone has is to experiment, research, and gain experience. In time, you'll develop your own secrets that work for you, and you won't want to give them away either. The biggest suggestion is research, research, research. Find out all you can about SEO, blogs, content management, Google's competitors, other types of computer advertising that isn't competing against Google, press releases, content managment systems, terminology in the industry, forums, keyword values, Adsense placement, channels, tracking, products and topics, and anything else related. Dive into it. I'm sorry to say that there is no 'golden ticket' to all of this where the answers are all given to you in one big post.
Well it may not be a big deal for you... but it could wonder many others finding it hard to get traffic to their sites. I would love to mention its all because of my techniques and hard work i able to hit $ 50 mark in a short span of three months starting from the scratch.
