Do you promote the heck out of all new content you create?

When you write new content for your websites, what tactics do you use to promote it? Do you spend effort on promoting every single blog post or website article, or do you only make this effort for some content?

There are social bookmarking sites, forums, directories, blog commenting, news sites, etc - what is your "standard" way of doing this?

I use a few social bookmarking sites, technorati, some forums and sometimes youtube.

I think the best technique is to only highlight your best posts, just my opinion though.

Actually, I just put the effort into promoting my best content. I update sites regularly but to maximize my time, I only promote the stuff that I think is really good. I know a lot of people are all concerned about their number of links but I see the best results through creating well thought out content. When you have something worth promoting and is optimized well, it tends to turn up in the natural search rankings and people link back to it on their own.
