I find a few product with relatively low gravity that i find interesting. However because of the gravity i'm worried that it might not worth the hassle of creating landing page, articles, etc. because it might not convert or have a very few demand. My question is.. have you ever promote a low gravity product? If yes how low do you think is too low in terms of gravity?
well, you might try promoting a low gravity product into an uncompetitve niche, look for a product with a great sales page, the publisher probably did a lousy job of recruiting affiliates, thus the low gravity, so what you'll have is a uncompetitive niche and could possibly get very cheap ppc ads on it. However, you will need a lot of time and effort to find such a product.
If it's a low-gravity product in a competitive niche, then I wouldn't do it, since there are proven sellers. However, if it's a micro niche and a relevant product, then I would go for it. In regards of your question, yes I did promote some low gravity products in the past. One had a gravity of like 5, but it was selling pretty good.
The product I've sold the most with had a gravity of 4 when I started and has moved up to around a 6.
One product I sell every 3 to 7 days (all search engine traffic) has a gravity of 7.84. This is a very specialized niche product which I happened to buy and use, then realized I could make a website around the niche. I use very little PPC, letting search traffic make my sales. When I look for products that fit a niche I am interested in, gravity become less important, if the product meshes well with the niche.
To be honest, I've made all of my sales on products that have a gravity of 10 or under. Have never had success promoting products with a gravity of say 50+ or anything like that..
Skribblez that's interesting.. so you only choose product with low gravity? do you market it using pay per click or article marketing?
Some low-gravity product can make you a fortune. But controlling your budget and ROI is important if you are doing PPC.
I think bl4ckman said it the best. Low gravity in a competitive niche usually means bad. Low gravity in a sub niche/smaller niche is probably decent.
I've made a few sales of low-med gravity products, all in the same smallish niche. It's also the niche I market least aggressively. I guess it's the overall ratio of sellers to buyers that counts. If there are more buyers than sellers you can make sales Cheers Zander
Other than e4e, all the products I've sold have a gravity less than 50. I probably prefer it that way.
I ever try to sell some low gravity products but I made no sales. I think it doesn't work out for me.
