do you prefer tutorials on the web or just books ?

I have learned many things from the web since today. Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, partly 3D Studio Max and like these many others. I like learning from Internet sources. Because I love tutorials, I made 2 websites about tutorials. One is quite new droptutorial.com (consists of just professionel tutorials) and the other www.tutsbuzz.com (users can submit tutorials).

Do you like the internet tutorials and use to learn new things too ? Or you prefer learning from the books ?

Books are really permanent assets but they will cost you a fortune if it is written by a famous person; on the other hand, most of the materials available in the net can be freely downloaded and used but the ebooks are not as comfortable as real books while reading...

I prefer reading a book to learn and it seems good for my eyes. Reading a long book on computer stressed my eyes. But it is sometime expensive to buy all books, so I have to rely on internet tutorial frequently.

I'm a firm believer in a quick tutorial on the net than reading how to do something in a book.
For one, the internet can give you the latest and greatest.
Two, internet tutorials usually get to the point faster.
Three, the cost isn't bad. Even if you have to pay for the tutorials, the cost savings is greater.

I have learned more by watching or reading tutorials on the web than I did when I was in college.

I don't even get the relaxing part. I try reading books even for the entertainment value and I can't do it. I don't get it, I even had excellent grades for writing and I still can't get interested in books.

For fiction, I trust Steven Spielberg to tell me everything I need to know about the book.:D

It depends but I think I tend to go quickly through the online tutorials and sometimes skip some important parts. So, for me, books would be better.

I learn through doing, so reading a book won't help me much. However reading a Photoshop tutorial and doing it as I go will help me to learn it. That's why I prefer online tutorials for things of that nature.

I am on tutorials side too :). Books are maybe good for eyes but if you wanna learn something you should practice on that topic. Reading from book and practising from computer is little harder than reading and practising from computer, especially if you must write something from the book. And there is screencast option on tutorial side, more useful than to read.

I like tutorials. If I want to learn something, I just type it into Google and start my research. Or watch a video on YouTube about it. Works like a charm every time.

I also prefer tutorials first because! using tutorials you can re-directed to same thing which you are intended to learn straight away using Search Engines! or any other site...

However books develop concept regarding different topics
