My main kind of music is power metal, so its lyrics are mostly focused on epic stories, and i like them (Rhapsody "Emerald Sword saga" comes to my mind), but their instrumental performance gives me goosebumps, something you'll hardly get through lyrics.
Definitely music. For instance, when Andrea Bocelli sings in Italian, I do not understand the words, but the melody still has a powerful effect on me.
Absolutely just the music. Rarely bother to even try to listen and interpret the lyrics. Of course, I was a professional trumpet player when I was much younger, so I was kind of "trained" to only listen to the music. Honestly, I could probably not tell you the lyrics of any song. I just like the melodies and harmonies.
As a djay, I really enjoy the musicality of it. I like sounds, beats, and also strange voices... As well as the beautiful ones! I am just a music lover overall.
I must admit that I don't hear the lyrics of a song until after I have heard it for 100 times.. so definitely the beat and the sound and the mood are the most important things for me!
Both music and lyrics are important to me. Only in combination. If the lyrics are unsuccessful, I will not be able to listen to the music.
Lyrics. I am a dollar millionaire and I permanently moved to the beach beside the party hall. Every now and then I listen to music coming from the party hall. Oh and I retired at the age of 24
Definitely music. But five years ago I didn't even pay attention to the lyrics, and now I can think a little about the meaning of the lyrics, figure out what the author meant, and reflect. Still, music plays the most important role.
