Do you place AdSense ads under page titles?

    Hi,

I was reading through the AdSense ad policies. I know they are against placing ads, if content is pushed down below the first visible glimpse of the page (if use has to scroll down).

But in my case: the ads are right under the page title (468x60 px) and then comes the title.
They don't have to scroll down, just that the horizontal ads come right under the title, sandwitched between it and the content.

    Opinions?

As far as I can understand you are saying you place your ads like this: http://www.jokes.com. As far as I have found these type of ads offer the best return (for me anyways) when compared to vertically oriented ones. This is also a very good placement because it is fairly standard across popular websites that have ads, so users are used to it.

It's a good placement position for adsense. You should try the "recommended ads" rather than this banner.
Be careful not to place ads inside iframe or sticky style codes etc.

I think you should consider the adsense policies before placing the ads in different sections of your website.

I meant recommended format of Adsense Ads such as 336x280 Large Rectangle, the 300x250 Medium Rectangle, the 728x90 Leaderboard.

Yeah ads right underneath the title have the best return for me.

Which ones are better: images or text?

I don't want image & text rotating, just 1 single type. Intuitively I'd go for text.

Try reading the TOS of Google Adsense, but as far as I know that is still not against their policies. Just bear in mind not to click to your own Ads.
