After reading the drama going down over at the SEOmoz.org blog (I recommend reading it), I was curious to find out if anyone does pagejacking? Or a least honest enough to admit it….
I think you will have difficulty finding any black hatters on this forum - especially ones that are willing to admit it. That being said, i do review the content of my competitors and try to learn and take cues from what they are doing to improve what i am doing.
I agree with you on this or at least I hope it is true. Let me add to the question then. Do you know anyone that practices Pagejacking and what are your/their experiences with it?
Creatively swiping content IDEAS from a competitor's web site is common; though, I'm not sure I would call it "pagejacking". I have paraphrased others' verbiage content at times. When you want to convey a particular message, which has already been conveyed by others, you almost have to look at their content and paraphrase it, so you don't copy their content by total mistake. It's good to go on what others are saying about the same issue, so you can say it more creatively, and in YOUR OWN WORDS. I would never pagejack, personally. For instance, I sell products online, through a few different manufacturers; I do "swipe" their material to create product descriptions, and, of course, I completely copy the product specifications for a true representation of what I am selling. In this case, though, I have complete permission to use the verbiage and images from my manufacturer's web sites; so, this may not be exactly what you're asking for.
Of the 5 sites I made, two were completely copied. One was copied 3 times But I really don't care. I just made sure that I ruined everything they tried to pull. Blacklisted them on Google, kept calling the host and telling him to take it down. In the end, I had the other guys paying me
yes backhat is not good, they play all cheap tricks and say every thing is clean till google illegal, Google dont say every point ,we must understand after it bann site.
