    Hi guys and girls,

I am wondering how many people here keep Parrots for pets. I am looking to chat to parrot owners so if you own a parrot please let me know!

    Thanks
    Jamie

No parrot but I really really love to have one.

Somehow, owning a parrot remind me of a pirate...

We have a parrot back home, it is now 17 years old, got it when I was very young. But buying a parrot in today's day and age has to be a responsible decision: a number of some species in the wild are going towards extinction due to trade in birds......not buying them is a good way of stopping illegal trafficking too.

Parrots make very good pets, mine talks quite a lot, but another question you have to ask yourself is whether you want to take away its freedom just to entertain yourself?

There are heaps of parrots that sit in the tree outside my window everyday. I don't really like the idea of putting one in a cage and 'owning it' :(

I too have many parrots that fly in every morning and evening for a drink and sometimes a bath. I have no need to cage one either. They are very beautiful to watch.
