I posses a few niche sites, but due to being too busy i had put them off for quite some time. I am actually ranked very well for my key terms too, so i recently decided to start tending to my personal sites and taking the extra time that's needed. My main focus is on clientel of course, but I have to start looking out for my interests as well.

I understand, owning a web directory is time consuming, especially when you add sites to each of your directories manually to create more content (thats how we do it if you want to own a directory on the long term...)

And its good to point out that you create a directory for your own pleasure and also for the visitors and webmasters at the same time! Pretty hard to manage that balance,

Those who made it can easily say it was hard enough ;D

Hey it looks pretty good rosiee, easy to look at, not harmful in anykind.
It got a good alexa traffic rating! 20,000 wow...

May be a travel niche is a good option... And may be a niche in a travel niche like, travel in egypt or asia, only asian site or egyptian one... Any experiences about that?
A general travel niche is better than a travel niche at a specific location?

Hi irka. The travel directory is doing alright. Its a PR 4 because we linked it directly from the home page. Also, the Alexa rank is because of the main site.

I havent really promoted the links directory separately, but we get link submissions because of the site. Travel niche is a good option to go for, but I haven't tried any regional directories, like travel in egypt, asia etc.

We've tried and incorporated the regional categories and sub categories also, but I know we can't expand it tooo much, without making a separate niche for that region.

Hope your directory is up and online and a success soon :D

I've got eHealthSites Health Directory and another small niche directory for Furniture and Woodworking.

Expect a large number of unrelated submissions, not sure if it's due to ignorance, stupidity or scammers. From reviewing some of the submissions, it's hard to tell. A few were even good for a laugh or two. ;)
