I have a Canon Powershot* 8 MPx* Camera. Works ok but im not too much into photography so doesnt matter really if i have 1 5MPx or 8 MPx camera. I just want the damn pictures to be very clear thats all.
Yes I do... old Canon Ixus 500, should really upgrade to the newest models, but I'm not much into photographing
This is the Canon 50mm/1.4 The 1.4 meaning how wide the aperture can open, I.E. 1) it's fast, 2) it can give a very shallow DOF (depth of field). This is a very useful prime lens. If I were using a camera that had a full frame sensor (instead of most DSLR's that have a crop factor of 1.6) 50mm is basically a WYSIWYG lens. Meaning what you view through the viewfinder is about what you'll capture on your sensor. I used this lens almost exclusively for shooting live music b/c I never used a flash when doing so. The F/1.4 allows you to use a very fast shutter speed compared to most lenses. I also use this lens to mount onto the end of my Sigma macro lens, thus achieving a diopter magnification effect. Instead of the 1:1 magnification ratio that I can achieve with my macro lens, the 2 lenses combined gives me roughly a 3:1 magnification. /timmy photo lesson :-D Canon also makes a 50/1.8 for 1/3rd the price and believe me...for the $, it's a killer lens. However, I like the 1.4 over the 1.8 for two reasons: 1) the 1.4 has a metal mount 2) I like the bokeh a lot better...here is a nice compare and contrast article http://photo.net/equipment/canon/ef50/
I use a Sony DSLR @14.2MP, it's a great camera since I like to change lenses all the time. The only drawback (not really) is the large file size of the photos, you need to find a place to store them like an external hard drive.
