I am just wondering how many people outsource projects for their website?

I outsource some of the tedious marketing tasks. I always make sure I do all the content by myself though.

Outsource is a must when you run like 10 niche websites, you can`t keep up with everything, even working 20 hours a day.

If youra earnings are great enough then you should outsource. Sometimes is pretty hard to cope with one single blog, however it`s possible if you run "automated-profits" websites, and spending money on PPC advertising.

    Cheers

I outsource content, but I am very picky. I insist on good unique writing and won't pay more than $6 per 400+ word article. The thing to do is develop relationships with some good writers who understand you and give them steady work.

You cannot operate 30+ websites/blogs and write all your content.

Outsourcing is necessary to get to the next level. Pick the things you do well and can do quickly. Outsource the rest. It may take awhile to find the right people to outsource to.

only to people I can trust! for example I just outsourced the creation of 100 hotmail/yahoo! accounts (to add to my growing auto army of blogs) to my nephew who wants some extra cash now he's at uni! It was a couple of hours work but I really couldn't be arsed to create them, so paid him £50 (i know more than the minimal wage!). i got my 100 accounts usernames and passwords from someone I ca trust and he got a night at the pub!

Digimac - i think one key point you made is that you have to find someone that you can trust and does good work for you. That is one problem I have had lately.

I have only ever outsourced once to a writer here at digital point and it was a brilliant experience.
To be honest I want to get to the point where I can afford to outsource more.

    Sure all kinds of things..

From desgin to coding, from content creation to management...

It all depends a bit on what I can do at a moment in time - if I don't have the time, I outsource!

I don't write for magazines anymore, but back when I was a contributing editor for magazines like Home Office Computing, Inc. Lotus, PC/World, etc., the rate was $1 per word. I.e., a 400 word article was $400 of income to writer.

I'm impressed that someone who is a good writer can work for, well, I guess one to two pennies a word. It was pretty tough to make the economics work at a $1 a word.

BTW, to answer the original post's real question: I do try to outsource... i.e., submissions to free directories via directorymaximizer, submissions to article directories via submityourarticle, graphic design to elance.com-ers, etc. For not very much money, you can greatly increase the work you get done.

I love outsourcing, but you need to stick to a budget, shop around and make sure you get results for any money you shell out.
