Do you often submit?

How often do you generate new sitemap? I have article site and it is growing by the day - at least 50-100 articles submitted every day. I however approve only 25/day so the new articles link is on the homepage for 24 hours. (I have massive backlog - phoooosssshhh) Anyway - since new links are added everyday - how often should you guys think I should create a new sitemap (right now I do it bi-weekly - twice a month).

Why not make your sitemap dynamic? That way it always includes the latest articles.

Once a week or two, get in mind that google re-submit your sitemap once a while.

Just write your sitemap in your favorite programming language. Then give it an .xml extension. Use FORCETYPE in .htaccess to tell apache to parse that file not as XML but as your programming language (make sure your sitemap sends out XML headers). It's easy to do and very effective.

I submit every couple days on one website, because it changes often. For the other website I submit whenever there are alot of changes, about once a week.

I dont submit mine that often. It seems like a decent thing to have for your site but can become a huge time waister if you let it get out of hand.

If they are running apache they do. Otherwise you'll need to find an alternative solution.

Site maps are good. My vBulletin forum has one, and it gets included every 7hours or so.

I also got the option to make the bot crawl more =)

Awesome. Once you get it working you'll thank yourself as you will rarely have to update it yourself again.

if your site does not update frequently then avoid daily submission, once a week is sufficient IMO.

As far as indexing is consider : it all depends on your SEO efforts, try backlinks, uniques contents, onpage opetimization, posting in forums and blogs.
