    I'm just 17 but I still don't like anyone to control me. I'm respecting them much though, so if they have something to say I'll not just ignore it.

    Yup, :) if your a good kid then they won't scold or beat you. Parents do it because just for the sole purpose of hurting you, they do it to descipline you(but it desciplining their kids varies to every parents).

    That's true, but if they go aganist God, then I cannot obey them. Eg if they tell me to steal, I won't because it says clearly: Do not steal!
