I heard you need to put your full address on e-mails you send out if you collect e-mail addresses in order for it to be legit...

    Is this true?

    Short answer is yes.

The US CAN-SPAM act requires that ALL senders of commercial email (not just bulk or spam email) include a valid physical postal address.

Some people get a little confused by the naming of that US law.

Many autoresponder companies, like Aweber, strictly enforce this for all accounts.

If you're not mailing anybody in the US (or based in the US) then I guess you are governed by whatever laws apply along the way but realistically you're supposed to have that address.

Think about what would be going on if you didn't have to put your address on it...considering what goes on anyway!

I was just saying because I've seen e-mail that doesn't have an postal address.

Now would a P.O. Box work?
