It depends on the niche you are targeting and your marketing strategy.. I like to have my own site so I can capture leads and build a relationship with the visitor not just palm them off to some aff program. Its 3 X easier to sell to a customer once they have already bought.. sell them a $30 product then send a complimentary product as an upsell etc.. But NO you dont NEED to have a site to be sucessful but IMO it helps. Good luck
A lot of people like to build a mailing list, you will see a lot of affiliates from networks such as clickbank affiliates make landing pages of their own so they can build mailing lists because over time they become a asset themselves.
Yep mailing lists, PPC, Free pages (e.g. squidoo) can all make you money without building your own site. It helps if you do build a site though.
well, if you do PPC marketing you DON'T need your website bro but if you are serius one , I say you must have
I have some affiliates that just have a myspace and a couple of blogs. They seem to make a few sales from my site.
Another name for mailing list is called a Squeeze page.. basically its just where you try and get them to give you their email address and some details so you can start sending them offers through your auto responder.. as once they buy something most likely they will feel comfortable buying from you in future.
Dont really need a website, however for long term profits you need a a home base. You can use solo ads, articles, and joint ventures to be successful.
