Do you need Exact match when a keyword is covered by Broad match?

    Say I use Broad match:

    Printers

Do I need to use following keywords as Exact match?

    Buy printer
    Cheap printers
    Discount printers

    Is there any benefit?

BudMaking you always want to have Exact Match. You'll usually pay a lower CPC, you're traffic is extremely targeted and you can build a target ad for the keyword.

You want to use Broad Match to discover the the converting keywords then take those keywords and create Exact Matches out of them.

The more targeted your ad is your keyword, the higher chance you have of obtaining a quality targeted click/user.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

    Nav19,

If I use Broad Match, how do I get to know the converting keywords?

Say, "buy Printers" is a converting keyword, how do I find that?

What Nav is trying to say is that you should always use exact keywords.

If you want to check a niche, or want to explore a certain point,
    so use broad search.

But our target is allways exact keywords.

Thanks TakeFive. I thought that was clear. =)

Yes, always use exact match. It's an essential piece of your AdWords campaign.

How do you know the converting keywords? Great question. By implementing Google's Conversion Tracking, you will know which keywords are converting. It's a piece of code with you will place on the "confirmation page" of your site. This is usually the "receipt" or "thank you" page of your site. Besides knowing which keywords are performing and easily implemented, the service is free. =)

    Cheers!
