For those who monitor Adwords on your own, do you monitor your account daily? What adjustments do you do? or do you add new keywords / disable some keywords? I find my account to be changing very slightly from day to day - spend, visitors, CTR they all seem to be the same, just conversion rate sometimes is good but sometimes really low. I would check my account every other day, for keywords not converting for a long time and wasted money, I would turn those off. and keywords & ads with low CTRs i would turn those off as well. and maybe delete some low search volume keywords. What do you guys do?
Hi, Being the PPC marketing company. We would suggest you the following: 1. Identify performing and non-performance keywords, Adgroups. Split them in different campaigns. 2. Set the daily reporting, by this you even don't have to visit the account on daily basis. Hope it helps Regards, Team Digitific Follow us on http://twitter.com/digitific
It all depends on traffic. Adgroups which get more traffic and impressions I monitor on weekly basis. Some I check every 2-3 weeks and some just once a month or so. At first you'll want to be checking your Account every 2-3 days or maybe even every day, but as time goes on, you become more confident of certain keywords/Adgroups and their performance remain pretty consistent/static, therefore don't need to be checked as much. Once I'm happy with a campaign, I simply move on and add another, if the client's budget allows it.
It depends entirely upon how much I'm spending on an account. I've got quite a few clients that spend upwards of 10-15k/day. Those get checked frequently throughout the day. However, if I'm only spending 1k or so, I check it every other day, and make changes as needed. However, something I've found to be helpful is always have 3 additional campaigns with 25 adgroups paused, ready to launch if I'm losing volume, or the CPA is getting out of control.
I check my campaigns everyday. I think it's good to improve and optimize ad groups and keywords as well as the whole campaigns because you can see the changes of keywords, position of text ad and how much impression/ how much clicks did you get and improve your budget too
Eliteworx, great suggestion! I've done that for a few past campaigns...makes it nice when you are looking at goal funnels and such in adwords.
I Also check my account daily. Until I feel it is running smooth..Once all the bugs and adjustments are made they are much easier to maintain..
I check it daily, but just to see how much ive spent....conversions are another animal. I try to make sure im scoring at least a 50% roi, meaning im making 50% of my investment back. Check out bing and yahoo though, alot of untapped niches if you know where to look.
I check my adwords stats on a daily basis, but I don't tweak the ads that often. On average, i modify my ads and bidding policy every three days. I keep experimenting with my ads to lower my costs and boost clickthru rate. You can get the most of adwords without playing your ads. I always have at least two ads running simultaneously. Then, i would remove the one which is performing poorly and replace it with a new one. I use the other ad as a control against which to measure my progress. Once, the control is beaten I remove it and create a new ad to replace it. It works.
Wow, spending 1k / day on adwords! I have always been wondering If I can get Adwords traffic to buy anything ! I tried it but failed miserably ! I got more than 300 visitors for less than $20, but that traffic was really bad. They came with the don't buy mode. The visitors came mainly from India and Pakistan. I thought it best to target US, UK, CA and AUS, because I thought that these would convert better. I am waiting to see the result ! I still wonder whether it's better to send traffic directly to my sales page or to get them through a squeeze page which is what I am doing at the moment ! I would appreciate your help!
A few things to keep in mind. I run with far more then 2 ads. I start out a campaign with 10+ ads, and run 500-1000$ on it before I make any changes allowing each ad an even amount of impressions. Then I delete the 5 bottom ads, and do it again, optimizing it to the top 3, then rotating new ads in once a week. As far as your problem zinomar, you've got to know where your key demographic is from. What country is the product coming from? Target that specific country? Are you using EXACT match? Are you using 'buying' keywords, so that people that are searching are using a 'buyers' mindset? Instead of merely a 'browsers' mindset? Do you have analytics with funnels setup properly?
I often do the same. When you're looking for a control, then providing the Adgroup receives enough impressions/clicks, you can go higher than 2 Ads. In theory, even when you have a control, you can go higher than 2, but I normally stick to 2 ads, once a control has been found. It's as broad as it is long then - 2 ads, means quicker switching; 10 ads means switching less but more chance of finding a better Ad. If the adgroup doesn't collectively produce enough impressions/clicks to warrant more than 2 ads, then stick with 2.
