Like some products im marketing, have banners which say free live music, boxing and sports. I will advertise the sports one and make sales/leads. But im not sure if the program actually displays the sports im advertising, im just assuming that it does from the banner which says "live sports". Is this okay? Because at the bottom i also say, if the sporting event is not showing, enjoy the large music and movie gallery. ?
I would only advertise what sports are actually showing. Ask the affilate manager on more details of the product he is offering. If someone buys the product based on what you placed on your, they may ask for a refund based on your banner misleading them. The affiliate manager may then terminate their affilate relationship with you.
Like and for a games one, this is non-cj. They have banners saying "40 000" free games to download. So i say "Download call of duty 4 free". im not even to sure if they have that download. But im just going off the 40 000 free games. I don't think they care though because i have done that for over a year.
Maybe they don't care but I wouldn't advertise in that way... Isn't that a little misleading? I'm not judging your campaign at all but I'd only advertise what's avaliable via the site. If you aren't sure, I'd double check. I see it as a sort of basic obligation as an advertiser and while your affiliate program may not know or care, they could certainly change course in this situation in the future and your relationship with top advertisers in that case would be lost! I'd keep it totally straight and only go as far in your advertising as the services you promote allow. Best of luck to you!
I don't mislead a lot. Rather accidentally at the start. It worked well so i just left it. 99% of my programs are acccurate. The others accidentally slightly misleading.
