Been experimenting with online writing gigs using some of my fave topics. But I'm reluctant to share or even turn over rights to articles on my real favorites. The quesion is, is it worth publishing to other gigs or better to go with one's own blogs? What's your experience?
It depends on how fast you want to make money from your writing. If you need fast cash, freelance writing gigs are a quick way to make a few bucks On the other hand... If you write strictly for your blogs, it could take some time to see any earnings from an article. Personally, I don't mind waiting to see earnings from my writing. I'd rather build myself an asset (my blogs, reports, products, etc...) with my writing than help someone else build an asset.
keep em for yourself, at most people give $5 to $10 for a quality piece and in the end they are most always worth more than that.
Thanks. So how does this sound: 1. I write basic, general knowledge articles for writing gigs (Hubs, eHow, Squidoo, AC) for quick cash. 2. For my real specialties, I build my own blogs and websites. I put my best articles here too. This takes time but in the long run, I'll make more money through AdSense, Amazon, Chitika and others. I promote these by creating quality content and natural backlinks. Does this sound like a good plan? It's not that I'm lazy, I just want to save time and do only what's worth it. I'd appreciate your help!
