I'd love to, but there's the little issue of having enough interesting things to say to get the traffic to earn income. As it is, my highest-traffic item has been pictures of stealing a coworker's sandwich and putting it in various places around the office. This does not bode well.
Sarahk; see the link in my sig, his sandwich is a few posts down. And I admit, right now the numbers look nice to make a little money from the blog, since the top article is on the front page of digg.com right now. But I know as soon as it dips below to page 2, I'll be back down to my 25 hits a day.
Partially yes. I am planning to update blog design is weekend and hopefully it will increase the revenue stream
I got $6 from adsense last month for blogging. That's going to be used to sponsor a cat to bring me more luck!
I get next to zero income on blogs from Adsense. It seems that no one clicks when they are in blogs - in some places, I get clicks in the main part of the site, yet none in the blog [I use different adsense channels in the blogs to monitor traffic] Part of it may be due to getting too many blog related ads. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=26732
It depends on a number of factors such as topic, layout, popularity and more. Adsense will make you cash, but it also reduces your return visitors (cost to you). If you're looking to grow your site, then use adsense sparingly. If you really want to stunt your growth, then place adsense on your front page.
I've had $30 from my trading blog so far this month. Is that good for a blog? The traffic is only around 10 visitors a day, but when I do get any clicks I seem to get 10 at once, rather than one or two. I think it's because the visitors are using the link unit at the top rather than the banners.
Not really. The URL is: http://theedge.freesuperhost.com/blog/ It's a satire rather than one of those boring made for Adsense trading blogs that just copy free analysts reports. I have a CTR of between 5 and 10%. I think the clicks come from the link units at the top. But have not set up channels so I'm not sure. Good luck, fcmisc.
I have (some) money from my blogs. But then nearly all our sites use blog software now (wordpress/drupal). But then, they'd still exist if blogs didn't exist, so I don't know if that counts.
Not many perhaps, but there are a handful out there that are doing exceptionally well. I was just blogging about that this morning, which you can see here: http://clicknewz.blogspot.com/2005/10/niche-blogs-make-money.html An excerpt: "Until now, the only way to really accomplish that on a large scale was to hire freelance bloggers to continually update your blogs with fresh unique content. Certainly not a bad business model... but I have to admit, it really got my attention when..." I'd love to hear your thoughts. I've been following this thread since it started, and have been talking to a few people about how they managed their "blog networks", analyzing profit potential, etc... This looks very promising to me.
At i am only one month new in blogs, yet my Blogs gives me small income...on an avg. 0.75$ per day. Yet at that time my ctr very low, so i consider on my CTR. You also see my blogs in my signature.
