    Hello,

I have an opportunity to linkexchange with a PR8 site whose domain is 10 year old. Although the seomoz pagestrrength of the site is 5.5, how much would you like to link exchange with this site?

Would you give PR7 or PR8 links to get the link? Which other methods do you use to measure the value of this link exchange?

    Thanks.

First of all, I would check to make sure that it's not a fraudulent PageRank and then I would make sure nothing looks odd like having not many pages indexed in one of the major serps or not many backlinks to justify the PR8. Also, make sure the cache is recent as a PR8 page should get indexed frequently. If it was like a month old, that would be pretty weird and may indicate a penalty or drop in pagerank. Also, check the number of link exchanges on the site and make sure they don't have too many outbound links as that will lower the value of the exchange if your page doesn't have many outbound links.

If everything's cool, I would definitely want to exchange with a 10 yr old PR8 site with a PR8 in return or PR7 if they take it.

    Here's what I'd do:

    - Check backlinks
    - Check interior links
    - Check number of pages indexed by SE's
    - Check Cache dates
    - Check number of outbound links

Those are some of the main points I would check to validate a good link.
