    Dear all,

I am working on my website and I have completed the ist page which is www.hamburgtrip.com/harbor.htm
I want to know that does it meet all the requirements to be at top ranks in google? It is quite heavy but I dont think end user will be effected. I have tried to put simple links.
What can I improve in it?

oh god it takes time to load.
And about ranking in google, you need to do more things.First do OnPage SEO then start building backlinks.
Try to make the site little small.

You should reduce your image file size. You can easily reduce the size by 50% and still keep the same image width and height and quality.

All the above suggestions are good...

I would suggest that you create a main page with navigation and section all the images and information for those images into separate pages (put these pages in the navigation bar at top of your main page) which would load your main page much faster. Then visitors can navigate to your other pages easily.

It looks like you've resized the images in frontpage or whatever application you used to create the website, so basically the browser will load the images (full-size) and then shrink them... this takes time.

If you right click one of the pictures and goto properties, you can see that the file size is the same as the full-sized version. To solve this download an image resizer tool (VSO is good) and create a thumbnail of each image. Replace all the smaller versions (on the main page) with these, and when the user clicks them it should direct them to the full sized image.

This way the computer will only load the thumbnails initially and then they will only load the full-size image if they click on it.

Best of all... it won't change anything for your viewers, apart from loading time! :D

    Loads way to slow.

A lot of the thumb images are 700px with a res of 96. Change to appropriate size with a res of 72. Also, a lot of tables. Try to use more Div's where possible. That will help with page loads. A lot of layers also. imho

    Looks very good though.

I agree that its slow at loading but its only the pictures that take the time. You can see off the content up front. If you removed the href boxes around the images then it might not look as bad when its loading. It will just look like you have a lot of extra space in between each paragraph and it will fill in as it loads.

It looks that you have not considered the end user who will be browsing those web pages. Each and every visitor will not be interested in all the pics you have put up there on that web page. Categorize the pics and make separate pages for each categories.

Also at 1027x768 resolution, horizontal scrolling exists but it is not preferred.

The copy-writing is not impressive or one that would hold-on the visitors attention. Looks like some ones narrating it over to a friend verbally. I assume it was a do-it-yourself job!

Also categorize the content, its like to much too read!

you might like to rearrange your categories not in blocks like you have now but maybe lists, put the description of each category in their own page or have it in the "alt" property if you go with images

nice suggestions guys....thank u soo much .... i have one more question....

Keeping in mind your suggestions, should I remove this page from my web space and put it again after modifying it? Because I am not sure if google likes the content or style to be changed again and again....Or should I let it to be like this for a few days because I am busy nowadays and would like to work on it after a few days...

    Kindly suggest

Actually I feel that if you have more stuff on one page then you have more chances to at top rank in google.... so there are more pics in one page with more text and links.....Isnot it good for high ranking?

I thing google values sites with many pages, and many internal links,

also think of your users, an easier to navigate site will readily be linked to anyway

you should have a site developed for you.

i think that if you simply got a nice php script and an seo to work with you you would be ranking in thousands man....

In your page, I got two things I don't like when browsing the net.

    - Large slow loading graphics. (too many graphics.)
    - Scrolling text in the status bar (viewed at 1024x768.)

For top ranking in google, have a look at the SEO part of this forum.

whew... Your site is so heavy bro. I don't think us that don't have a high speed internet connection will not be bored waiting your site to be fully loaded.

You know what, you can reduce the counts of images you have in your home page and also try using .gif instead what you have right now which is .jpg

    Hope that helps.
