I just changed my layout according to the heat map from Google. http://labnol.blogspot.com Does this site look OK ? Comments please.
Links and text are to confusing. My eyes run to the left and right Try to make more of a difference between content and menus. Maybe a light CSS background for the left menus, to go with the blog's theme ?
Personally I find it too busy. You may want to try and get the ads into the posts in a *useless* attempt to make them reflect your blog posts content rather than just blogs (not much dough there.) rather than floating at the side - like mine - http://diobach.com That way - when people click through to the actual page you get more relevant ads (and can add others.)
First of all, welcome to DP. I didn't see that you had actually introduced yourself. I looked at your blog layout and it looks nice. I like having the body of text on the right. I think it works well. The navigation tho, seems jumbled up with all of the ads. Have you concidered putting the ads on the left, the text in the middle and the navigation on the right?
You may want to try placing the banner at the top using the horizontal size, as well, CTR will be better. Nice site
thank you friends for your comments. i write reviews on desktop search tools in my blog http://labnol.blogspot.com I am still trying to expirement with different layouts to max. my adsense revenue. this forum is definitely the best place for getting advice.
I like your blog. Lots of useful info. You probably do need to differentiate areas of the page using colored backgrounds. Also, the vertical AdSense ads look kind of awkward when positioned as they are.
See here www . weprintcolour . com. My Ctr is really good with banner in the top fold...right at the top.
becuase of adsense your site contents look really ugly. Try one half banner, in your site and for unregistered users use somthing like DP has.
based on your suggestion, i have moved the wide scraper to the right. do you feel this improves the readability ? http://labnol.blogspot.com
Looks good to me. Doesn't the heat map indicate that the left side gets more attention than the right side; thus you might be more profitable with your vertical ad on the left side? Personally I have found the opposite; that vertical ads on the right collumn do better than vertical ads on the left collumn...so you might want to experiment.
