Do you like my web design?

Hi I'm 13 and I just started coding and designing a social networking site using HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT,AJAX,JQUERY,PHP and MYSQL.

I'm more interested in the design (also code), I think the white on black color scheme is very good but some people think that it is strange and they don't like it. I tried other colors but I think black is better.It is a flat design coded and designed from scratch, inspired by Windows 8 and Flat UI.

I just started so it has only few features but the idea is to combine the functionalities of the two most popular social networks, Twitter and Facebook but I don't want to copy their design and some people say that I should make it more like Facebook.
I want to make a unique design not copy Facebook.

When you login in the site, you will get your profile picture box and if you click on the info button on the top of the box, the box will slide down (or up ) and it will display a black panel with all the info about the person (currently unavailable) and the friend button and block button (only when you visit someone elses profile).

I making the site for fun and learning but if it will get a little bit popular, I will monetize it.

not bad for a 13 years old. black and white there's nothing wrong, personally I like black and white. but being a site for public , color make very important factors , it must be eye easy design combining with interesting color matching.

coding is not hard, but designing is something you need to put alot of effort into it.

 

Nice job for starting so young! I would add a little to the front so people know what the site is about and for.

 

Thanks, yes I will put many infos about the sites like an about box. I just started so I'm beginning with main features.

 

I have an another idea, which is to allow users to change the theme of the website.

13 or not design is crap. Black is white has too much contrast- hard on the eyes.
