yes...though i have not used magento yet, reading some reviews here...
i started saying my client dont use magento as it is large and tends to make site slow...
but when i say it to fellow programmer ...they say i must be kidding...

so is it wrong that magento is slow...
means when it comes to high traficc and adding large number of products...?

i am reviewing prestashop...so far so good...
but still developing...even no documetation but has lots of promises....

I'm using Magento as well. I't was my first and only shopping cart I ever used/build and it wasn't this hard at all. I did all my self - from installation to adding the products. I used template and made some changes, installed few extensions and I did all this without any knowledge about any coding - I found all answers from Google :). From the beginning to live - around 3 months. Now I have 4 shops using one backend. Type Google estore4you (can't leave the link yet) and you will see yourself.
    I love Magento.

Magento Iki 0.8 template (based on Magento 1.3.2.3 build)

I have made my own Magento Template. It includes many improvements (mostly front end) compared with default magento template.
Template customized and intended for affiliate sites, so it doesn't contain shopping cart module - instead it only special section for affiliate links.

    Version 0.8
    ------------
-Turned off unnecessary modules like: Cart, Google Checkout, Log, Rating, RSS etc
-Installed good multilevel drop down menu navigation script, using pure js.
    -Fixed product images compression issue
-Made simple and easy product image swap gallery
-Removed unnecessary front end javascripts (was 150Kb - now 75kb, using jquery lib) - speeded up client-side page load
-Made tab-based navigation on product page
-Changed, improved and cleaned some tempates
    -Re-designed default design
    -Fixed some cross-browser issues
-Speeded up page load approximately in 5 sec
    -Added 'featured item' support
-Added support for TinyMCE - WYSIWYG Editor for backend

    Version 1.0 to do
    ------------
-Single page filter ajax based filter, client based
-Product listing on product page (slider style, see video)
-Full WYSIWYG Editor support for all backend forms

Iki Template can be used for any niche sites, designs, mostly catalog of products, multi category shops.

You can see template demo at _bandaguns.com If someone is interested let me know.

Magento requires heavy server resources. I set 64M memory_limit in php.ini to load tax drop down list on cart page. Otherwise I get this error
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 76 bytes)
    Code (markup):

I hate magento, because its loading speed is very slow. they have lots of bugs, and payment options is itself a big bug.

Magento is the greatest e-commerce app available. That said, most people do not require enterprise level stuff because they simply don't care. Sure it requires more resources, it does a wide range of things that other shopping carts don't.

It is not designed to run a tiny little store peddling junk. It is a professional solution like Volusion etc. The nay sayers should ask themselves why major corporations are using it before they opine about its usefulness.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

I hope it will help me on my online bussiness.

I'm not a Magento fan. Not architected very well, had some security issues a while back, and takes a large amount of server capacity to handle a large website.
