YES Age of Empires I is my first Action/Adventure game impressed me a lot and then I played all of their versions.
Oh. Have u played all their versisons ? But i think These later versions of this game is not as good as the first version in 1997
Yes i like it. In my opinion its not better than Age of impires 2 , but its it was a beginning of new era for electronic games. The 3-th series of the game is not so successful as the others
never played it. I got hooked with AoE2.. then the expansion pack. Never did play the 3rd one though. Also wish I had a PC so that I could play the online edition now.
Let me tell you something about the first time I played that game. It was also the first time I stayed up all night playing a computer game, outright disobeying my parents. It was Christmas Eve and I started out in the Egyptian campaign mode. The Stone Age town center had these mamoth tusks sticking out of the cobblestone, the huts were made out of dried water reeds, and my villagers were learning how to go from being hunter gatherers to foragers. It was a peaceful time before future civilizations covered the world with the sores of strip mines, the suffocating smog, and the wasteland of industrialization. A time before we screwed it all up. And whales! When you go to the Tool Age you could send these ricky ticky looking Egyptian rafts into the deep blue of the sea to cast their nets over fish spots. Villagers would chase Gazelle, brave crocodiles, and gang up on Elephants. I always loved seeing farmers and foragers turn in their baskets at the Granary building. This was before the obsession with 3D thus spoiling us with the need to see the third depth. RTS games were doing fine and could have left 3D to FPS types but it wasn't enough to satisfy spoiled customers. Yeah. Those were the good ol' days.
