From what I understand, around 48 percent of the U.S. population doesn't. But needless to say, those often happen to be the ones who come here and miss the option to vote "I don't know".
Right. And add another 20 percent not sure if their blood type is positive or negative. I'm running a community for rhesus negatives and am amazed with how little people know about something so immensly important.

I discovered two things. First, my blood type is most common - 0+, that's good, because as I know, we're the only ones who can donate blood to any other blood type; and second - 18% don't know what their blood type is??? that's amazing...
If you're 0+ you can give blood to any other + type. If you're 0-, you can give blood to any type, + or -.
