I can build my own pc, but I've always let HP build mine with the prices of computers these days, it's not all that much cheaper to build your own you can get a nice laptop for 300$! :O
I never bought a branded PC, they used to be pretty expensive compared to a DIY around 12-15 years ago. Had four PC, all self made, some with help some without. Three laptops, all branded and one mixed breed a Compaq Portable III 286.
Definitely i would never buy a branded PC, especially not Dell or Tiny PC's I hate them. Custom Build all the way.
Custom built PC's are far better than anything you will buy in the shops, easy to upgrade, no need for annoying customer services in places like PC World!!!
I just built my own PC last month, I put a costum heatsink on and it was huge, only problem I really had was getting the MOBO inside the case with the mobo screws and stuff, I kept aligning them wrong then the MOBO had holes in weird spots it was like standard ATX but with 2 holes at the very right off a few degrees so I had to push on the side and stuff to make it fit. Then the wire management, that was hell. lol
I always build up my own PC. My preferences has been met and most importantly it's way too economical than buying branded PC's
Now that I have not owned a desktop for 3 years, I dont build my own. Computers are cheap enough and if you get the right warranty, it works out much easier with little hassle. I have a 6k laptop as my main machine that is now almost 2 years old(It was 6k after 1,000 in warranty also SSHD were really expensive then, so another 1k for that). But in that time, water dmg destroyed the mother board. The screen got some dead pixels, and I may have dropped it. Everytime someone came to my house and replaced it. None of that would have been convered under mfg warranty had I built my own. I still have 2 years and 4 months left on the warranty too
i also made my own config and assembled it.. now its 4yrs old without any problem. not even one single upgrade also.. its matching todays speed..!
really? i found building your own is about 2-5 hundred dollars less i have done a custom job for someone before and made myself a pretty penny.
I have always used a PC that I had assembled myself. I think it gives a sense of pride and liberty to me.
