lol I remember getting this list in the email during early 2000s.

My favorite, as I'm sure it's yours too, is being able to unlock a car through the phone.

Being a Doubting Thomas myself, I am going to test this out right now :)

That Battery thing only works on Nokia I think !

That too only on few phones and not on all.

Yeah I saw this a while back and never got around to trying that..

I don't have a second remote to try it with now but please let me know if it works, the curiosity is killing me!

You can try it with the one remote you have, you only need two cell phones lol.

Lol good point -- but that would still involve having to give it to someone else so that they can try it while I stand in front of my car..

And honestly I want to try it at a long distance not from inside my house to my driveway. :p lol

    FIRST - perfectly true!

SECOND - HOAX, as someone stated before, Mythbusters already tested this and FAILED.

THIRD - Misleading info. Such a code exists and it works for Nokia phones, but it activates EFR (Enhanced Full Rate Codec). It will give you a better sound quality but LESS TALK TIME.

FOURTH - TRUE, but not all the service providers will accept a request to block your handset.

FIFTH - MAYBE. The service providers can choose NOT to allow numbers like (800)... to be dialed.

What service provider doesn't allow you to dial a Toll-Free number?

I was under the impression that they could be dialed from any number, considering I've never had a problem with it...

Well, AFAIK, this happens in certain countries in Europe ... It's all about agreements between service provides, actually lack of agreement :D.
