Here we will discuss about the latest update at Google. According to my knowledge the new update at Google is "Page Layout Algorithm Improvements" if any more update at Google so please share and discuss here. Thanks Amit Dwivedi
Google Page Algorithm is another step toward improving SEO technique. As in, it prevents the spammer to use multiple ads on the top fold of the website, confusing user to click on the ads and not the actual content for which they landed on the site. The main reason is to give user the utmost benefit of the content in the first view for which they are searching for.
vipulaggarwal hit the nail on the head. The only one who can keep ads above the fold is the ultimate hypocrite, Google itself. It's been getting worse and worse and on some results, Google's own product placement pushes the actual search results so far down that you don't even get 10 a page. Frankly, if you aren't following the thinking of "let's put as many ads as we can everywhere so wherever the user clicks is an ad. haha this is the smart way to make money, ads everywhere and no material of value!" you really aren't going to be in trouble. Design your site in a way you'd like to see another site, treat others the way you wanna be treated type deal
I love people like this... it's amusing... do you think that Google only updates once every quarter? and that's it... Google is constantly updating - it's a progressive thing. It's not like Google goes - bang, bang, bang within a day or two and all of a sudden you see traffic and a drastic improvement... nope... Google updates every minute of the day and is constantly updating, the only thing that changes is that stupid PR number (just the number in the tool bar)- which doesn't really mean shit - because even your Page Rank is updated in close to real time.
There's been a series of updates - the layout update, a Panda data refresh and a PR update all in the last 10 days or so. You can usually predict which way your site is going to go on the "PR" update by the performance directly before it...seems like there's a movement in traffic about two weeks prior usually.
It's really not that hard to find: http://insidesearch.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/17-search-quality-highlights-january.html
Yup - LoL - it's straight from Google's mouth... although the main focus seems to be Google+ which is a shame, every other change is just minor. It's been interesting to see the big companies get slogged for using shady link building practices - "Plus, Google penalized JCPenney, Forbes, and Overstock.com for "shady" linking practices." http://searchenginewatch.com/articl...date-Say-Goodbye-to-Low-Quality-Link-Building - now if these big guys who pay a shit load for SEO experts can screw up link building... I don't think that the novices here stand much of a chance with their article spamming, blog comment spam, directory spam etc. etc. It's best to avoid link building all together - unless you are a pro...
Focusing on the updates is like focusing on the wind instead of aiming at your direction. You either use it for the purpose or it keeps blowing while you observe it, passing by.
Even i am looking for the webmaster updates from google. I keep an eye at official webmastertools blog.
Hahahaha nah never... tell that to the umpteen thousands of sites that got slapped by Panda in the past 6 months...
As per Google they are to bring around 500 changes in current year so might be some of changes may not become a big news and so we may not come across with those stuffs. Though currently Google updated their Page Rank
