Do You Know How To Get an SEO Job?

I'm putting together a blog post that lists a bunch common SEO questions that are asked during interviews for SEO positions. I've got a few frequently asked questions, but am looking for other good ones from people who've been hired in the past.

A few common questions that always seem to come up during interviews I've had include:

What SEO tools do you use?

What SEO blogs do you read? (For some reason this question is always asked.)

In your opinion, what are the top 5 most important search-engine ranking factors?

What are the most important on-page optimization factors?

Please add any common interview questions you've been asked in the past. This will help beginning SEOs prepare for their first interview, get hired, and start learning the ropes of search engine marketing.

A question relating to the google webmaster guidelines is usually asked. In my previous seo interview, I remember being asked how many links were allowed on a page.

I never worked for any company. It is much better to run my own sites and optimize them to the top. Instead working for someone else and making pennies (yes in my country they pay rediculously low salaries to SEOs.) Just dont worth my time.

I am interested to hear also the answers from you, because these are very simple questions. Any question can be asked in interview, that is totally depends on the person taking interview. Read some seo blogs.

If you are not fresher in seo field and worked in seo firms then i think you can easily answer the questions. But if you are fresher then it not matters that you know the all answers.

Thanks for the responses. I picked up a few good questions that I can use for my post.

@SEO4me: Keyword effectiveness index calculation? Who were you interviewing with? I've never heard that advanced of a question in an interview.

@SEOBut.com: Agreed. If you're living somewhere abroad getting an SEO job probably doesn't make any sense. But if you live in the US and can get paid a decent wage for it, why not get paid to learn is my opinion.

@PuneetJvw Portfolio is def important. Especially when applying for an SEO job
    that is above entry level.

@Johnk681 Right these are pretty simple. But these are questions I've heard
multiple times in SEO interviews... Some of them are for very large orginizations.

@buzza_gts I like that suggestion thanks.

@agag2: The blog is in the signature of my posts... :)
