Do you know Google's DB size?

People know google has many DCs.

I know there is a limitation size for each DB.

The question is how big is for each DB?

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks

a better question may be: do you know how many databases google has? ;)
we had business with them in late 2006; they have around 30 trillion database entries per year. their information needs up to 400 terabytes to get stored. it's really huge amount of information.

    cheers

Why would you need to know their database size? I'm sure its just for article writing stats, but it sounds like you are trying to crash a Google datacenter. Good luck with that. Down with Google! lol

Hell dude, it's possible to bring down Google, most reasonably computer literate people would know that. THERE IS NO SECURE DEFENCE WHICH WILL STOP EVERY ATTACK!

In short and so most can understand, hackers use something called a Botnet. What it is, is a lot of computers that have a type of virus which doesn't do much except sit around, completely undetectable and irremovable once you have it on your system which fortunately does not harm to you. Then, the Botmaster sends out a signal to all the infected PC's (without you knowing of course) to visit a piticular site. Once that site receives too many hits, it can crash the server, database or as a security measure, the site will close itself down.

Google can be shut down, but no permanently, but I am sure people more knowledgeable probably do know a way but they either won't share it or can't muster the strength to do it.

Thank you for the information, do I confuse with tables and databases?

Because 30 trillion databases are a lots!!!

    Thanks,

No, nothing is related to hacking.

All because I am interested in making a SE.

Any other helpful informations please provide.

    Thanks

DB means Data Base and he's wondering how big and how much capacity those DB they have. It's funny people are wondering over Google's facilities.

No one can tell you exactly.
They have spread datacenters all over the world.
BTW, all the best with your project.

it would be logical that they have many tetra bites per location around the world.

it would be wise to assume they have well over 1oo,ooo GB PLUS just for uk sites.... probably 100+ times more.... they have the money for it.... and must have several 50,ooo + servers

    Yes, DB means Data Base.

Lets say size 1G can store 15,000 clawed pages
1,000G still only can save 15,000,000 pages

If there are 1000 DBs then can keep 15,000,000,000 pages. This is the one I think will be enough for couple years to use.

    Questions are:
    Can a DB size 1000G?
How much for a 1000G DB will be required?
    How is Google DB size?
Does Google really use DB to save clawed pages?

    Thanks,

1024GB = 1TB and yes, a database can be of that size, or even more.
Google DB Size , that, I don't know and never think of that.
