Hi guys. I have two questions about PPC techniques. The first one is this: I have a big ad group about Hp cartridges. (Yep, I sell printer supplies.) And because I wanted to improve the click-thought rate of my ads I get specific items out from my group and created new ones from them with two ads so the keywords are in the title. Like Hp 56 cartridge. It is not as general. But now I have very few impressions for these specific ad groups 16, 9, 10 and so on a day. I know that I have the right keywords in the ad groups and some of them have more than 400 keywords. And they are relatively popular keywords to these specific ad groups but I still have very few impressions. Does anyone know why and how can I improve the impressions on these ad groups? The second question is about the {Keyword: Technique} If you place the title or part of the title between {Curly Bracket}, than Google will replace your title with the keyword that the visitor searched at Google. Do you guys know that goggle will change keywords for trademarks? Like if I was searching for “Hp ink cartridge†will Google put the Hp keyword in my title? Thanks guys I appreciate any help .Laszlo http://www.1printer-supply.com Cheap inkjet cartridges and refill kits. Guaranteed.
This is the best thing that you can do to improve CTR - you are clearly on the right path - but I think that you're moving the keywords on the wrong way: move the keywords using the move ad/keyword tool so you will still keep your Quality score to your new destination group. I have used this method with great results - keep doing it. Yes it will, but: - it do not put the exact phrase that the user searched but puts the matching keyword that you have in the ad group. - sometimes if a AdWords Reviewer detects that you have too much keywords that would be against editorial guidelines (for example too mutch keywords with the trademark "HP") he may disapprove the ad by "Incorrect Keyword Insertion" - but this is pretty rare. This is against Forum TOS - use standard signature to do not get banned.
It's best to be specific and also point the destonation to the right page. So if someone is looking for a HP57 let your vistor go to the page with only the hp57. Yes you get fewer impressions but in return you get vistors that are specificly looking for what you have to offer and not your casual surfer. CTR will most likely improve and without a doubt im my mind your ROI I have sold cartridges too and found in adwords my best friend as it kept on making me money. good luck with your business Edwin
Should not get lower impressions per keywords. Normally after some time gets more impressions per keywords as his quality score improves due a more relevant ads and maybe more relevant landing page.
I *think* that this makes you to reset your Quality Score what probably explains the low impression in the beginning. I'm pretty sure that when you use the move ad/keyword tool it keeps your quality score: AdWords Staff already told me that.
What I meant is that if you are specific you will get much lower impressions than if you go for general keywords as there are more searches for general words then there are for specific. If you target the keywords HP 57 ink cartridge you will get less impressions than if you target ink cartridge but the quality of vistors is much higher and thus your conversion. Edwin
