Just a question for all of you, who has had a host here who has not had an outage for more than a year? Ive been through 25+ hosting companies in 5 years. Anyone else care to beat a record?
Difficult to find such a company but you can get many of them who have been able to keep up 99% uptime guarantee.
I've manage to see one server at Softlayer network has an uptime of about 750 days, I believe that's the best I've ever seen for the past 5 years.
I'm using Hawk Host right now and they have honestly been the best web hosting provider I have ever used. In the past 3 months my websites have only gone down for 1 10 minute outtage and Hawk Host notified all of their customer's beforehand.
Are you telling me you haven't patched the server in 2 years? Our network has had a 100% uptime for almost 6 years now, our mailsevers' uptime (1 minute monitoring intervals of all services - SMTP, IMAP, POP, and ping) have an uptime of 99.997% for the last 1656 days, MySQL DB servers (99.983% last 961 days). MS SQL 2008 (99.996% last 279 days), Backup Servers (100% last 916 days), and our shared hosting server's average 99.989% with the best standing at 99.997% for 1338 days and the worst at 99.899% over 1063 days due to a software issue caused by a hardware failure that caused intermittent problems till we tracked it down. They are all Windows servers and sometimes require and reboots after the patch. The uptime days vary because we start monitoring when a new server goes live. Our reports are live and available to all our customers, so we can't fudge the figures. Although not perfect, these downtimes do include the time taken for patching, any unscheduled and scheduled maintenace, and other factors. It could also include things such as a busy network causing a single test to fail (but it's still recorded). Our shared hosting customers have not been aware of any downtime for over 4 years (patching is early morning) when a power circuit failure at the DC took down some servers for just over 1 hour - we resolved that by providing dual-power circuits to all servers from that point. I guesstimate the when our monitoring shows over 99.95% uptime it's pretty much equal to 100% uptime if we take out scheduled maintenance and reboots after patching.
well i m running my own servers and my uptime is 200 days since server is online and regarding outage,it only get offline when my datacentre is doing some upgardes on routers
