    I got an account a while back and never used it. Google indexed it under my name, so I recently updated the profile and log in occasionally. I don't have a lot of interest in using it all the time, but a couple of weeks ago I needed to contact someone in my family in an emergency, and couldn't reach her. I found one of her Facebook friends and asked the friend to tell my relative I was trying to reach her. As a tool, it's not one I need much. But I do understand why some people really like it.
