I have enough saving for rent + food + other basic expenses that will last for 18 months (as long as i don't get sick...)

I have enough with my wife's salary and our savings to quit work completely. We are discussing this possibility to start our own home business.

I am single and thus I have.

However, if I had a family, then my savings would barely last six months. :(.

In bank ? what if your bank goes bankrupt :D
I do not worry much since whatever amount you save, whatever future plan you make, all can be gone for a big toss in a single day.

I have enough sense now to know to never quit working when I took 3 years off I did not have that common sense to realise that you gain more respect by working and moving forward :)
It's all about learning what life is all about and being unproductive says it all, when you are unproductive, it's definitely not the way to go

I'm a student so I don't have to worry about Family but I don't have any savings as I spend too much. I'm thinking to start saving as I am planning to buy a car :p

I could scrape by for a year. My living expenses are pretty small, but my hobbies take their toll (e.g RC airplanes).

But then on the other hand... I've been living 'without a real job' for about 10 years now :)
