I just wondered if anyone around here has gotten the Amazon Kindle and what you thought of it. I don't really need a dedicated reading device, as I'm comfortable reading on my laptop, but I wouldn't return it if I got it for a birthday present... What's it like for reading? How does it handle different light? Does it cause more eyestrain than paper reading? I'd like to hear about these issues. In general, how does the display compare to a standard laptop? Kindle uses a proprietary format instead of PDF, I think that's a smart marketing move but user unfriendly. What about the Sony Reader? Anyone try one of those? It would be nice to see Apple make one of these, as everyone seems to be copying the iPod.
