Like I've stated I'm new to this but the newer phpld has, like mentioned, the Image Verification, with different distort levels and phrase type. Also has a Ban section where you can ban things like IP addresses, certain domains, select words and more. Seems like these things will help stop automated submissions alot. GL
Well yeah,,,those things are necessary if your not going to use PayPal IPN to the fullest. I don't see too many eCommerce sites using image verification. Both block SPAM, but with my mod, you don't need to log-in to PayPal every time you received a paid submission to check its status.
Hello... Important: Have you been getting many legitimate submittions into your Paid Review Directories and NO payment recieved? Well I have and decided to investigate this and contacted 4 repitable website owners that ALL claim the digixmas.com is adding your sites into thier software which is the cause of this.... I decided to contact them at thier forum and left them a message in thier complaints section... It would be my suggestion that when these types of submissions happen that you contact them and advice them NOT to list any of your directories or you will be forced to contact thier ISP and hosting. Now im very sure that they are aware of thier actions as add-url.ws was just placed in 3 areas... 1. Directory critic .... which Shows that this directory is PAID review 2. Vilesilencer Forum were i offer 48 hour inclusion ONLY then it turns back to PAID Review 3. Solicitation and announcements Were it cleary states PAID deep linker... So that allows NO room for error other then blatent disregard thx malcolm
There is a solution that can be used, its already in use in the phpLynx scripts where any submission that does not go through with its payment is automatically deleted from the database with a 'do not pass go kind of thing'. If it can be done with one script I'm sure it can be done with others.
yes this is the best solution i want to do but i dont know how, any one who come up with solution link will get green rep from me just give me the link of tutorial on how to add pre submission page...
Even with v3.1, I was getting tons of SPAM. For some reasons, html getting passed by phpLD check and people/robots were submitting links with tons of Crap links in description. I HAD to use Captcha to turn them away. I know it doesn't look nice but for now I don't have any other option. Now I am not even getting any legitimate submission.
Many solutions or so called mods could be share for free. But just imagine if I did it - then I would not do anything else as only answering questions and solving problems with errors people do... I've made pre-submit page for few directories (also this linked here) and I know it's working brilliant, cutting atomats in 100% and spam in 99%. Pre-submit form is not only agreement checker, based on additional session variables storing. It's preety easy for those familiar with php even at this 1st level So rather can join it as a mod to my existing mods pack, which will limit suppport I can handle. There are much more ways to restrict submissions like closing some categories, opening for payed submissions, limiting pagerank of submitted websites.... Most of it is nothing special but work and stops all automats, spam and poor submissions. As always - the easiest is the best
try here http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1912&highlight=terms+agreement Accept 'Terms of Agreement' checkbox it might help you
I just review sites once I get payment.. This is fairly effective at removing spam. Other solutions would be to get captcha blocks, and to change your site's footprint. Things that say this site is powered by blah blah are great ways for spammers to find your site and put them in their database. Though if your site is already in the db's changing your footprint will not mitigate that.
