Do you have a script from datingscripts.co.uk - emeeting? The company behind have taken away the forum so i thought we can discuss good or bad things with the script here. I have a site on Chatthailand.com and i have version 5.0 but i am trying to uppgrade to 5.2 but the template is not at all the same. 5.3 Just came out as well If you have some problems or fixes please let us know and help each other.
I had quite a few problems upgrading to the latest script. Infact, I lost a lot of photo comments, blogs and ended up corrupting the database. Their support tried to help but couldn't do too much to fix the problem. The script works well for anyone with a new site trying to launch a community but not for anyone upgrading.
yes i had the same problem from 5.0-5.3 they are now doing 6.0 and i really hope the database will be the same

Bought the script 2 years ago - currently running v9.23 and still not stable - too slow and full of coding errors - The promise they make on their advertising pages are far from what you get. The main drawback is the inability for automated emails eg. notification to a member when a new member joins that math his/her match settings. When they started out the idea was good, but with all the bugs the are trying to fix they lag behind other companies with new integrations (facebook login, 3d etc. etc) You work day and night to modify and get everything up and running, trying to work around the bugs and shortcomings - and then WOW, after nearly a year a new version upgrade. First you must PAY for new version, and then start all over again. If you complain about bad customer service or unstable script in the forums you get instantly banned - Yes they don't tolerate anything that might indicate their software is unstable at all. An open invitation to the eMeeting team - PROVE ME WRONG - Remember? I still got all our conversations we had over the years - email and in the forums. Complaints I had in 2009 is still not resolved - oh sorry, my posts got deleted so that future customers can't read it!!!!!! Do a Google search "scam emeeting mark fail" and see that I'm not alone. WARNING! Datingscripts are FRAUD and big SCAMMERS! After buying their script they disapiert. Alot of people have buying extra support but they don't even answer! We have send to them alot of emails, we have open several tickets and warnings but they don't even answer by them! 2 years now and they delete every post by their forums to !!!
The dating sites are not really just about a great script! There are ALL kinds of problems to be sorted out for a dating site, regarding security of the clients etc. I would strongly suggest that it would be better to use an existing dating site (of which there are lots out there) to "host" your particular niche in the Dating sector so that you can concentrate on the marketing of the site while the host takes care of the back-end and all of the potential problems!
OK I am using them on www.datebytype.com and would like to get some feedback from other users. Please tell me who has some good experiences running a site with them. So, who is actually using this script? I am considering a purchase - it looks a million times better than skadate in terms of layout and functionality. Is there anyone that has purchased it and is using it? If you claim its a scam site then please list legitimate reasons why its a scam. All too often people cry 'Scam!' when they don't get their way with products and it leaves consumers like myself confused on whether its real or not.. It's not expensive and I think it may be a decent option for me as a start. The payment gateway features look a little incomplete and its a shame it doesn't have things like Facebook connect built in. Any info would be much appreciated.
No, it is not a scam site. It only forces you into using their options unless you pay for a modification or have someone who knows how to modify those options. But for an out of the box sw it is pretty good overall.
The Support getting much better no after they swap owner. A support ticket do not take more than a day to answer
