Just wanted to get some opinions from you all about a photoshop tutorial website. What has been your experience and what have you found to be successful techniques for promotion? I know it is important to submit regularly to Good Tutorials. Any other advice???? THANK you in advance. (I wasn't sure where to post this. I thought this would be a good place since many who view this section might have a photoshop tutorial site.)

I've had the opportunity to own many photoshop sites, some i've already sold.

It's good to submit to Good-tutorials as you said but also diversify and submit to other tutorial portals like tutorialkit.com,tutorialized.com etc..

from my experience i get most clicks out of tutorials featuring some kind of "effects"..wallpapers and template creation.

If you can submit regularly (and get accepted ;) )to such tutorial portals than you could make a steady income, ad placement is everything too when it comes to adsense, i've learned that the hard way and from personal experience 336x280 seems to work the best for me.

I've also learned that people really get pissed if there's pop up ads even if yout tut is the best there is out there..lol, geez..some people need to download Firefox! haha

I'm currently toying with an idea for a tutorial portal too at my domain eztuts dot com, but the script i'm using (pligg)..well i aint to happy with it yet :D
