I'm not a very big fan of microsoft to be honest

 

I don't hate microsoft, although windows vista is a bad attempt but I think they still got chance to improve all the things they messed up in windows 7, well I do love vista as well... Because of one bad attempt you people should not hate it as it has made everyday life easier. Linux is damn too hard.

 

Too hard? You've never installed Ubuntu. Don't make statements you read on a forum somewhere without trying it yourself.

 

if you consider windows as their only product then yes, they have done nothing. Perhaps you should be doing some research on their new technologies, especially those related to .NET Framework, SQL Server, SQL Data Services and Azure. You got to love them for those ) Now I may be a little biased since I'm a .NET developer

 

taking money for one service/product cant have any footprint of good faith . If they put a computer on every home , they took money for that and isn't nothing good on this . They practically are paid for something what they sell .

I beg to differ here, surely it doesn't matter how big a monopoly is right but if there was an operating system both better (user-friendly) but also cheaper then I'm deffinitely sure that Microsoft would go under but guess what? There isn't...

 

I have 2 reasons that why I hate Microsoft
- Bill Gate is wealthier than me.
- Make me sit down in front of computer to play World of Warcraft all day that ruined my life.

I think microsoft is awesome. They created XP, and are going to hopefully make up for vista with windows 7. They created the xbox too How could you not love them?

 

Again, you aren't showing you know the difference between the operating system and the user interface. "Windows", what you use to view application, the desktop, etc., is NOT the operating system. It's the desktop environment. In Linux, there are hundreds of desktop environments to choose from though many select Gnome or KDE. But Gnome/KDE is NOT Linux.

I would disagree that Windows is more friendly either. A knowledgeable technical user may get frustrated with the way it treats him with all the nag warnings while that same user may appreciate the no nonsense of Linux.

 

Azure is not a valid product yet so it's hard to love it. .NET was the first thing I ever tried when I got into the web business and I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. The most complicated malarky MS has ever produced and people actually pay for the privilege of using it. lol.

i'm one of those people that uses their stuff but hates them. i don't hate them because they're big or successful, it's because of the long trail of creative companies that have been destroyed by msft's dubious business practices. i also don't believe they write very good software but we're kind of stuck with it - for now, anyway.

 

I have nothing against them, they are just trying to survive as a company.
