they are one of the biggest companies in the world, they run on the vast majority of computers....its only natural for people to either love or hate them.

    what say you?

personally, I think they have done almost nothing right since XP, across the board.

7 is going to be a turning point for them.

You can hate them but you will still have to know Microsoft is not going away!

When they are as large as they are its easy to hate them, but I would say I admire them!

I think its pretty useless to "hate" a company, what good is that going to do you. Sure if you don't like windows, or there other products, then guess what, don't use them. Its that simple, to waste energy getting upset about a company that quite possible revolutionized the way we use computers today, is just silly...

bill gates is my hero if it weren't for him we wouldn't have much technology today of course his course has come to an end but he was the spark of technology and I think we should all thank him also Microsoft is still a great company even thought he stepped down chairman.

It would be a bit hypocritical of me to say I hate a company who supplies the operating system I use every day. They are just a business trying to make money like all businesses.

Nope, like it or not without Microsoft you wouldn't be here post this question. Bill Gates had a vision and it was because of him we are here today.

Even Google needs to be thankful for Microsoft. Google was a fetus when Microsoft was creating some really cool technologies way back. If you compare the technologies Microsoft and Google has brought to this world Google would have a pretty small list.

I have no reason to hate microsoft. They've provided a lot of useful software applications that I use on a daily basis. Sure they aren't as dominant today, but as others have said they have done so much to revolutionize the computer industry.

That's only true on the desktop. Elsewhere they are a minor player or don't exist at all. Mobile phones and the internet for example. On Mobile phones, other OSes rule and on the internet, only Fortune 500 companies are interested in Microsoft products while most others run some variation of Unix/Linux/BSD.

Name one thing that Microsoft pioneered on their own. You can't.
Nope. Never did. Everything Microsoft has done before and now was from a company they bought or stole from.

Other than games, what is it you depend on Microsoft for that you can't do in another OS or with another company?

I have been using their products since 1995..... I don't need to find a replacement. I like what I have and I need it :p

    i hate microsoft
i hate their policy about crushing oppisition unethically
i hate that they mislead ppl putting "vista ready" stickers on computers that aen't vista ready...
i hate that they censor words like linux or unix on xbox live gamertag...
i hate the fact that they they paid ppl to use ie to kill netscape which was a much better browser (geko based just like firefox)
i hate the fact that they are trying to put windows on every device just to make money

some of the stuff i said above is documented on the usa vs microsoft case...

and by the way if u had some computer knowledge you would know, or atleast this is my opinion, that windows sucks really bad, and that this single user mode exposes it to incredible amounts of viruses and spyware...

this is my thought on microsoft!! :)
