The "Do No Evil" Corporation Falls Short in Suppressing Anti-Google Websites; GoogleSux.com Goes Online Over the years, Google Inc. has meticulously acquired Internet domain names such as GoogleSucks.com, GoogleSucks.net and even GoogleSucks.org - thus pre-empting their use by critics. But apparently, the public relations people at Google have overlooked a popular misspelling of the word 'sucks'. Recently, a new anti-Google website went online at GoogleSux.com GoogleSux.com lists several major grievances against Google such as their near-monopoly domination of Internet search market, cooperation with China on Internet censorship, privacy concerns and last but not least - their arrogance. It also features a free speech comments area, where any visitor can share his or her opinion on whether Google sucks and why. The site even has its own t-shirt store with t-shirts and hats criticizing Google. The one-word designs feature words such as "Greedle" and "Big Brother" written in rainbowish colors. When asked about GoogleSux.com's mission, the site's spokesman Matt Doggs said: "Google is one big PR stunt and has been from the start. They managed to convince the world that they're a cute harmless puppy on a mission to save the world. But in reality Google does do evil and a lot of it. The purpose of GoogleSux.com is to expose it!"
For me I feel that Google is great, but is too dominating in the search industry. Would prefer a few players rather than one major player.
Anyway i don't feel google as a devil. But for google if competition is their means then it will work perfectly. Now what is the matter is there is no competitor for google. I am waiting to big competitor for google.
It`s simple: G is evil when we don`t get what we want from him. G is god when everybody is happy. Now, how much % of happy people are on Internet from the % of people that hate G? Hate vs. love. I just don`t care about that. The 3 option should be available...
From user point of view is cool from webmaster's .... is more evil than johnchow lol! Still never eq 2 God
No I don't hate them. I do worry they have too much power but I think that's more the nature of power than anything against them in particular. In fact I think they are doing a decent job of restraining themselves from power abuse so far (I mean compared to how bad they could be...) considering the huge amount of power they do have.
google does not offer only one service. google example , i hate google search because their search quality is decreasing day by day (and my personal option is that google search quality has decreased with Matt Cutts. It's just my personal opinion). google has started as a search engine but they dont care the search now but i love gmail, youtube, adsense , adwords. shortly , my votes goes to both option.
Do a search on Google about Page hijack using 302 Page Redirect and you will realise Google search is on track.
yeah god forbid a company buy up domains with it's trademarked name in it. This is an incredibily childish and stupid thread.
YES! I have actually had to use Yahoo lately to get some decent results and they have of course been screwing over all my sites for a long time. DOWN WITH G!
They've been around waaaaaaay too long. Why the f*** can't someone come up with another few search engines? The web seems large enough to accommodate a few more ... eh? I don't hate Google, neither do I love them. I respect them for what they are doing. Coming to think of it - Google should be answering this question not us. The poll should have been: Does Google love us? OR hate us? We all know what the answer will be.
Hi ... no fan, of anything so pervasive as google, I'll let the New York Times do the writing for me. Great threats-to-google story on front page of website. In the long haul, the privacy issue will do google in, as the pendulum swings away from strong-arm, fear mongering Shrub Jr and Dickie tactics to more open public policy, which tends to protect personal rights and information. Couple this with natural market tendencies and what goes boom in the night will be google falling down. Just not anytime soon. Anon.
