Hi guys I'm trying to decide if this div positioning will be considered as spam. I will show user first a main form and then text, while in the page code search engines sees the text first and then the form. Do you think this is considered spam? Does it matter where you position your div as long as is visible to every body? Here is the URL
It's OK to use CSS to position the most important content first, either for search engines or to optimize loading order over slow connections. In my testing, I have not seen the order of content on a page affect search engine rankings.
Hey shortbus on your home page you've repeated the word nurse 11 times and the word nursing 9 times. And all this in 4 phrases. And your users have to read that stuff? Do you know this phrase? Do as I Say don't do what I do? Also thanks for the SEO effort
Ok Spencer but how about H1, H2, H3 tags. Don't you want them close to the top? I'm an amateur in SEO but I've read 6 books and I have a site the I'm trying to optimize and compete with well established financial sites(7-9 years) and some of the keywords that I'm trying to compete yeld over 50 millions in search results. I understand you need content and backlinks but it could take years and I may go bankrupt by then So what do you think should I do?
I use one H1 tag close to the top. I use as many H2 tags as the content justifies. I use H3 tags if the content justifies it.
I wouldn't consider it spam, but it's not the most professional thing to have on your site. However, I realize the obstacles you're facing in competing with well-established sites. Good luck, and keep listening to Will.Spencer, he knows his stuff!
dude, that's not even close to what you did. Besides, the reason I say it is spam is because you have it positioned at the very bottom of your site because you know nobody wants to read that nonsense. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my site and let me know that. I'll decrease some of the keyword repetition this week . Check back by Wednesday or so... YOU ASKED, I GAVE YOU MY OPINION! Don't ask if you DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. I was just being honest with you. In the first 11 words, you use "mortgage rates" 3 times. OVER 50% OF THE WORDS are that phrase. VERY READABLE....NOT. BTW, Mr. Defensive, you DID NOT ASK: "what's on your site" You asked is this spam? I SAID YES. Excuse me for answering your question.
Not really, as long as you do it with moderation. For example, not sticking a div at the very bottom of a long page, preceded by acres of blank space.
Does this pertain to just Google or MSN and Yahoo as well... I find that MSN for certain key words I do well but Google is tuff.... I think I need some expert advise. I find that my Shopping and Weight loss sites are going up against some BIG GUNS. John
