Do you get paid for the first click on Googles Links?

Question regarding Google Adsense "Link Units"

Such as the one listed on the bottom of this website: http://www.benefitofwheatgrass.com/

Now do you get paid for the Very Very first click, or do you only get paid if the click, and then they click again on the google results page?

So technically the websurfer would need to click twice inorder for you to make money...is this true?

    Thanks

I haven't checked it, but with common sense mode on: nobody is paying for that bar of words. People ARE paying for the adverts that are shown on the next page, so you probably only get paid for the clicks on that page, not for the first click.

The first click is not supposed to count as a click, but it does count as an impression when you bring up the next page.

I asked Google about this directly in e-mail this past week. You can click on the link you just can not click on any of the ads themselves. And you don't get paid for anyone else clicking on the link either. They have to actually click on an ad on the link page.

I did have a problem I posted about in another thread where I clicked on two of my own link units the other day and they showed up as clicks. I am still waiting to hear back from Google on this.

And to specifically answer your question, on link units, yes a person must click twice for you to get paid.

Correct, these are like the Google SearchAds - requiring multiple clicks to get a payment for the site ... I don't like them.

I was excited to see this new format at first because they are much less cumbersome on the site, but they don't seem to convert well for me, nor does the Google SearchAds.

For some sites, depending on content, visitor demographics and a multitude of other variables, I'm sure they work for some ... just not for me.

Thanks for the replies, I guess my common sense mode was off when I was thinking lol.

Yea it makes sense that these do not convert as well because users are forced to click twice in order to receive your commission on the click.
I have a hard time just trying to get users to click once!
At leats Google didn't make it 3 clicks~!;)

You only get paid if they actually click on a sponsored ad.

yap, there is no charge for the first click.

To let you know, I was thinking if this adlinks can be used as tool for us to know what sites are advertised on certain keywords.

They convert very well for me. Put one on a page with an existing ad unit and you will see increased revenue.

Think of it as supplemental instead of a replacement for regular Adsense.

I think placement and integration is key. You don't want them to over shadow your regular ad block(s), but be a secondary avenue.

I don't think you get paid for the public service ads that come up in the beginning.

does anyone who actually has success with this format have any tips as to where it is best to put the links?
